    "# Lab 6: Security Guardrail Layer\n",
"**Goal:** attack a small financial assistant, then add defensive layers and *measure* how much each layer helps.\n",
    "\n",
"**Why:** LLM applications can be tricked by instructions hidden in documents (indirect prompt injection), can leak personal data, and can reveal secrets. No single control fixes this, so you build layers (defence in depth). This is Module 6, sections 3 (prompt injection), 5 (guardrails) and 6 (data privacy), and section 9 (red teaming).\n",
    "\n",
"**Safety note:** every name, PAN, Aadhaar and phone number in this lab is fake. Use only fake data when you experiment. Only run attack tools against systems you own or are authorised to test.\n",
    "\n",
"This notebook is self-contained. It uses a tiny in-memory document set, so it needs no vector database and runs quickly."

"**Why we do this:** the same provider setup as Lab 4, so you can use whichever model you have access to (Ollama, Groq, Gemini, OpenRouter, OpenAI or Anthropic). Tool calling is not needed in this lab, so even small models work.\n",
    "\n",
"**What the code does:** defines `chat(messages)`. Below it we add `ask(system, user)`, a one-line helper used everywhere else.\n",

"Set `PROVIDER` first. Ollama must run locally (Colab cannot reach it). Model names change, so edit `MODEL` if one is rejected.\n",
    "\n",
"**What to expect from results:** stronger models resist some attacks even with no defences, and weaker models fall for more. Both outcomes are useful: the point is to measure, not to assume."
